The CDC's decision to cut the number of days a person infected with Covid-19 must quarantine to 5, down from 10 days, has befuddled many, as US hospitals continue to struggle with the rush of Covid-19 patients seeking treatment.
Many of those hospitalized have shown to be infected by the highly transmissible Omicron variant, which took over as the dominant strain just months ago.
